New Release Alert!!!
It’s been a busy year here at Monster House. We have been working with exciting new Maritime authors and artists to produce some amazing new books for the growing book lover in your family!
Mysteries and Legends Book 1: Monsters
Written by the Callithumpian Theater Troupe based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, this deep dive into monster lore in Canada and beyond comes with a handy guide on how to be a good monster hunter! Step one, check those sources!
Beautifully illustrated by Kaitlin Hoyt, this hardcover compendium of monsters is a perfect addition to the library of the inquisitive and imaginative young reader.
A Dog Named Beau… Wears a Bow
In the early days of the pandemic, just after author Daniel James got his new Siberian Husky pup Beau, he decided to write a series of rhyming early reader stories based on Beau’s life adventures and the lessons he learns..
The first of these stories have been brought to life by the whimsical illustrations of Meg Clark. A perfectly melodic tale, the first of the Beau series is a must for that quick bedtime story.
Bone Jaw
When Canada and the world first went into lockdown, families were left scratching their heads trying to figure out how to keep the learning process fun and exciting. Monster House decided to help, and the first “Tell Us Your Story” writing competition was born!
After reviewing hundreds of fantastic and imaginative submissions, two authors were selected, one from the age 4-7 category and one from 8-11.
Author Isabelle Cullen, now aged 12, wrote Bone Jaw, the first of the two winning tales to be published—and what story! Read on as a hilarious bilingual lost-in-translation mixup featuring a beaver named Jack and a fox named Jacques comes to life with the perfectly suited art of Sophie Edell.
We’ve got so many other fun projects in the works, so keep checking back to see what’s new!
